Summer Slush Punch (Adult Beverage)

Happy Independence Day!!!

Summer time is pool time, beach time, vacation time and enjoying refreshing adult beverage time.

Slush Punch has been a favorite for many years around my house. I make it every summer and always have a bowl in the freezer ready to go. It’s so refreshing and enjoyable during the hot summer lazy days by the pool. Even better, it’s so easy to make although it requires some planning since it takes a few days in advance to freeze.

When my kids still lived at home, I always had one of those plastic gallon size ice cream containers that worked perfectly for this recipe but since I no longer have ice cream in the house, I use a large bowl. Just combine concentrate orange juice, a large can of pineapple juice, a jar of maraschino cherries and some vodka. Some is a relative term. Then cover and freeze that mixture for several days.

Note: there are tons of combinations of juices you can use for this punch so try some of your favorite tropical juices in this recipe.

Once ready to serve, mix up the “slush” to bring cherries to top for even distribution.

Add a couple scoops of slush to a glass, large or small, no one is judging you here.

Add Sprite, 7-Up, Diet Sprite or 7-Up, Ginger Ale or even club soda if you want it less sweet.

Enjoy!!!
