Some days I just want a really good burger! I don’t usually have bread or buns in the house but found I can enjoy this American classic without the bun using this method!
First, I mix up a few seasonings. I have tons of spices in my pantry so just blend together whatever I desire. This day, I used salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and paprika.
In a preheated hot cast iron skillet, I added a little oil and two piles of sliced onion. I then added two hamburger patties on top of the piles of onion.
Using a heavy spatula, I smashed the patties so the onions adhered to the bottom. Then, I seasoned the top of each patty.
Cook for a few minutes and then flip the patties. Look at that goodness! Be sure to season this side as well!
With pepper jack and American cheese in the house, how could I possibly choose just one?
Make a side salad with your favorite hamburger fixings.
Enjoy!
